Are you in business and would like to stay in business and do well? That is a big challenge in today’s environment. With a continuing poor economy during the first quarter of 2010, even good businesses are finding it hard going. So, what to do?

You need a plan to succeed. Let’s look at that.

I was asked to complete a survey and it looked like this:

What are your goals in 2010?
Answer: Achieve higher sales and better collections.

What is your biggest obstacle for achieving your goals in 2010?
Answer: The economy and ruinous competition.

What would you like to learn in 2010?
Answer: How to better reach potential customers at the time a buying decision is being made.

These are common questions that business owners face, and probably the same answers, too.

The first thing is to quantify a sales goal. Mine is to increase client acquisition by 25%. This is a number that I can focus on. My time limit on this is non-specific. Rather, I do not want to suffer any more loss of customers. If we just hold steady, that would be ok, but it would be even better to expand the client base.

Obstacles are the poor economy and competition. However, there are still people in the market and they are still spending money. Maybe not as a spendthrift, but perhaps carefully. It is up to us to capture this customer.

What do you want to learn? To capture the customer, it is imperative to be in their head or face at the time they are making a buying decision. The only way to do this is through some communication medium that they will get, read, save and/or act on.

So that is the challenge. Get the people who are buying to buy from you. We have discussed means of doing this. For further information, I invite you to visit the following information:
