Internet SuccessPosted: June 9, 2010, 5:19 PM
Do you want to be successful on the internet? If so, how are you going to do that?
I review sites all the time and in most cases, I am turned off and delete it. Why is that? It is because the reek of hype. “Get this vital secret report totally free” and so on.
Gimmie a break.
Vital? Vital to whom and to whose success. Secret? Secret to whom and why? They are desperate to get subscribers and get people to open or click through. Is this how you want to be successful?
There are those who make big bucks on the internet. There are those who used to make big bucks on the internet. There are those who are going to sell you or give you for free their secret to success.
Let me ask you this. If you had a system of making money, why the heck would you want to share it with anybody? It is like a slot machine that is paying off. Are you going to walk away from it? It does not make sense to do so.
I am in business. I have often said you could publish all my “secrets” of success on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Someone who understood would say, “Ah Hah”. Those who did not get it would just pass it by.
The point is that there is no secret to success except personal traits and an idea that is viable.
So how do you succeed on the internet? It is a business and must follow the basics of business and the fundamentals of success. This means that you must offer something that people will pay for and actually do pay for. What do people want? Probably the “easy button” or pixie dust. What they need is a dose of reality.
Business requires a lot of work and it is not for the lazy. You must be vigilant and aware of the market and competition, and take preemptive steps to continue you success and profitability.
I have been in my own business for 22 years. I have had to deal with inflation, recession, stagflation, ruinous competition, and poor economies. No fun, but necessary if I want to stay in business.
There is no silver bullet. You must try and find out if it works. If it works, keep it up. If it does not work, figure out why not and do something else that can work.
Your success is your doing, and you must meet the demands of the buyer so they will spend money with you. No one cares about you, they only care what you can and will do for them.
